We are going to be 20 years old!
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of UKScifi.net I plan to upgrade the site from Dragonfly Cms to something completely new and modern. I began the site on my old Amiga2000 as a server box back in October 1991 in the hope of building a community for people with the same interests as me in early Internet applications, Scifi films and television programs.
The server started out as a BBS board (Gopher server), IRC, FTP and Telnet communications.
This site has been replaced. Our new site will be www.ukscifi.com, the net domain will follow in time.
Then we took to building a website with other types of web services and five website redesigns later we found our way to Dragonfly csm.
We have had technical problems in the past with Dragonfly's mysql database that lead to the loss of some content, but with the new site I hope to bring all of this back.
I am looking for individuals to help me rebuild the community. If you would like to make a contribution please contact me on here by emailing keith(AT)ukscifi(DOT)net
I would like not just to have Scifi but real science topics on the site like the science behind what we see on our TV screens and what has made it from scifi in the past to what we have in reality today.
More importantly to me I would like this site to be a place for fans to call their own and decide where this site goes maybe for another 20 years.
